My Values Are…

Values are qualities, things, or ends that I serve in the world. Where they are present, I encourage them. Where they are absent, I plant seeds. Where they are threatened, I protect them. At all times, I model them through my actions.

Relationship to Self

• Spirit & Mind – I am the Perceiver who sees through my eyes, without whom there is no “me” to value anything.
• Body – My healthy body is the container that sustains my mind.
• My marriage & home – I rejuvenate my mind, body and spirit by relaxing into my home & marriage. Caring for my home base is caring for myself.
• Education & personal growth – I choose to constantly evolve and expand my capacity, because stagnation does not serve me or the world.
• Conscious decision making – I take responsibility for my choices and their consequences. Every reaction to life’s circumstances is a choice.

Relationship to Others

• Community, friends & family – My vibrant community is the container that sustains my social and spiritual existence.
• Environment –A thriving environment is the container for my physical existence.
• Respect for others – I respect the opinions and values of others, so that they might respect mine.
• Open mind, global view – I keep my mind open to options I might not think of myself. I seek solutions and life patterns that apply universally.
• Reliability, honesty & integrity – I do what I say, and I say what I mean.
• Acceptance – I accept that uncertainty and paradox are a part of life, and that I cannot control people.

Way of Life

• Fun, humor & laughing – Life is meant to enjoy.
• Freedom & spontaneity – Freedom is a prerequisite for humans to express our values and creativity, when and as we choose.
• Sustainability – I choose life patterns that are repeatable indefinitely and available to all humans.
• Social Justice – Social justice is integral to overall sustainability. I work so that the abundance of the earth is not systemically withheld from anyone.

Product

• Music – Music is the language of life. Music has a power to communicate deeper than words and thought.
• Leadership – I enable people to exist in alignment with my values and I influence positive change.
• Creativity – Life is creative by nature. My creativity is the product I give to the world.
• Action – I act upon my values and ideas. My actions are the physical manifestation of, and evidence of, my values and ideas.
• Parenting – By modeling my values as a reference for children (not just my biological children), I enable them to create their own value in the world. I encourage them to see and respect the innate value in themselves.
