Great Christmas stocking stuffer for a stargazer! OK, you’ll need a big stocking, but still.

These go for $800+ on eBay. Make me an offer. Call, email, or use the contact page.

The NexStar 8 is a standard Celestron 8 inch SCT optical tube mated to a futuristic-looking go-to mount. The NexStar computer both finds and tracks any object in its 18,000+ database. There is also space for user-defined objects. The included tripod is a tubular unit that folds up easily for storage. Assembly consists of extending the tripod legs, attaching the metal accessory tray that also serves to stabilize the tripod legs, and attaching the mount to the tripod base. A power adapter is included and there is provision within the mount for eight AA batteries for socket-independent operation. The scope occupies little space and weights only 37 pounds. With this scope you can see things like the rings around Saturn and the Moons of Jupiter and much much more!

This package includes:

  • NexStar 8 telescope
  • Tripod
  • Two eye pieces:
    • 40mm PLOSSL-1 1/4″ (Celestron Model #93315)
    • 25mm SMA 1-1/4″ wide angle (Celestron Model #93007-A)
  • Power adapter
  • Instruction manual
  • Rigel System “Star Lite”
