As a maker of battery-electric freeway commuter cars founded in 2007, Green Vehicles, Inc. had a leading-edge, clean-technology product. Meanwhile, the State of California wants to be the epicenter of clean-tech research and development. California’s SB71 created incentives for clean-tech companies to stay in-state, by excluding companies from sales and use tax (SUT) for equipment used for development and manufacturing of advanced energy and transportation products.
